Founded by Alan Finger and his father, Mani Finger, ISHTA yoga focuses

the individual needs of each student who practices it.
The ISHTA Yoga teacher training is a yoga immersion designed to
deepen your own practice and your own understanding of yoga first.
Many trainees enroll in the program without plans to teach. The
in-depth experience of yoga will be life changing for you regardless
of your future intentions.
This
training will be taught by Yogiraj Alan Finger, ISHTA teacher training
director Sarah Platt-Finger, Yoga Life’s Joanne and Drew Kane,
Ellen Klein, Dena Vigilis and other senior teachers. This training
is a great opportunity for yogis and yoginis to deepen their yoga
practice, knowledge of philosophy, anatomy and asana and broaden
their experiences.
This training is Yoga Alliance
certified. |

Alan Finger began studying yoga at the age of 16 in South
Africa with his father Kavi Yogi Swarananda Mani Finger. He rose
every morning and practiced Asana and Tantra meditations for three
hours. Finger was enthralled with the mystical world around him
as his father transformed their home into an ashram and hosted some
of the most renowned gurus of the last 100 years. Seeking to integrate
and celebrate the different teachings and lineages that passed through
their doors, Mani and Alan created ISHTA Yoga. ISHTA aims to give
each student an understanding of how to incorporate aspects from
Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda practices in a way that best suits their
individual paths. The combination of breath work, physical exercise
and meditation create a deeper level of overall fitness and wellbeing.
Alan came to the United States
in 1975, founding Yoga Works in Los Angeles and Yoga Zone in New
York. He has created a number of videos and written several books
including: Yoga Zone: An Introduction to Yoga, Yoga For
Life, and Chakra Yoga. He most recently opened ISHTA
Yoga Center in NYC in 2008. Find out more about Alan and ISHTA Yoga
